On October 29, 2018, Elena Lorenzo, MIEC Manager of MATACHANA, carried out a knowledge update in the two most important hospitals of the City of Guadalajara: the Juan I.Menchaca Hospital Complex and the Fray Antonio Alcalde Civil Hospital.

In the first one, a theoretical presentation on new aspects in automated washing and disinfection was combined with a practical visit to the hospital's CEyE (RUMED), which is in charge of supplying all the sterile material to the consultations, plants and other units of the complex in need of medical devices in sterile condition. More than 75 people were able to participate in this event that had a great attendance and was endorsed by the Training Department of the Health Center.

In the afternoon, at the Civil Hospital, the talk focused on loading procedures and how to avoid the appearance of wet packages and other adverse events in the reprocessing of medical devices, reviewing all the steps by which a medical product is submitted, just before being used with a patient.

Continuous training is a basic tool to ensure quality and strengthen knowledge, especially in a field of application in which we must always guarantee the safety of our patients.

Thanks to the company ABSTEN DIAGNOSTIK, distributor of the company MATACHANA in this region of Mexico, for its involvement in the conduct and organization of this session and especially to Master Gema Araceli Angel Rodriguez, Head of the Department of Nursing at the Hospital Juan I.Menchaca. Without her efforts, this workshop would not have been possible!
