During the first week of October 2023, the head of MATACHANA’s MIEC department, Ms. Elena Lorenzo, had the honour of giving the 1st Training Course on “Reprocessing of Medical Devices” in the Maldives. More than 50 professionals from various hospitals gathered at the premises of the company STO, distributor of MATACHANA in that country to address, in detail, all stages of treatment of medical devices.
Similarly, during 2 days, a practical session was held at the RUMED of the Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH) and at the Dharumavantha Hospital, both in the city of Malé, taking advantage of two new reprocessing units installed by our company. The event was a great success, thanks to the active participation and enthusiasm of all attendees, who contributed with their questions and experiences related to processes and equipment.
Together with our distributor, we are pleased to raise the level of sanitary standards in the Maldives and are delighted with the positive impact this educational activity will have on the country.
This experience underlines the vital role that Sterilization Science training plays in our healthcare systems. It’s not just about equipment; it’s about patient safety!!!
