On 14, 15 and 16 October, the first edition of the congress on Good Practices in Medical Device Reprocessing was held in the city of Bucaramanga (Colombia), organised by the Asociación de Profesionales de Central de Esterilización del Nororiente Colombiano (Sterilization Central Professionals of Northeastern Colombia). The organisation set several thematic topics: production, responsible consumption, renewable energies, innovation and technology applied to the Sterilization Sciences.

During the event, MATACHANA and our distributor KAIKA, shared with the attendees the latest innovations and solutions for the safe reprocessing of reusable medical devices within the RUMED. Also, throughout the event, attendees were able to interact with the 50HPO® Hydrogen Peroxide and Plasma Sterilizer and the BIOVelox20® Incubator for Rapid Biological Indicators.

The academy was the protagonist in this event and Giovanna Ruiz Beltrán, Clinical Specialist & MIEC LATAM, participated in the scientific seminars, with the presentation “STANDARDISATION, AUTOMATISM AND CONNECTIVITY: the Future of Cleaning and Disinfection of Reusable Medical Devices”, reconfirming the importance of the cleaning and disinfection stages in the reprocessing circle, and showing that technology is the key element that facilitates and optimises processes.
