3RD WORKSHOP ON WASHING, DISINFECTION AND STERILIZATION IN THE REGION OF MURCIA:
On February 7th took place at the Hospital General Universitario Reina
Sofía de Murcia the 3rd scientific workshop on sterilization.
With more than 200 attendees, the event was a meeting point for healthcare professionals who in one way or another develop their activity around the washing, disinfection and sterilization areas within the healthcare centers, either from a Primary Care Center to a large hospital. It is worth mentioning the presence of many participants who came from other communities, which indicates that year after year, this event acquires greater prestige and recognition outside its regional scope.
The scientific program was characterized by the diversity of topics covered, addressed by professionals of different backgrounds: specialists in preventive medicine, nurses of material resources and professionals from companies who were invited to develop specific papers. In our case, Elena Lorenzo Marfil, Infection Control Manager of MATACHANA, delivered a talk on the progressive incursion of robotic surgery in sterilization units, and the challenge that this instrument represents at the level of the acquisition of specific resources from the hospital, staff training and reprocessing times.
Our special thanks to nurses Emi Sabuco and Antonio Salmerón, for thee continuity in their work, as well as to Dr. Francisco Campayo, Chief of the Preventive Medicine section of the Reina Sofia Hospital.
Thank you all for your involvement and excellent organization.
