In 1982, KAIKA began distributing hospital sterilization equipment in Colombia, with the backing of the MATACHANA brand. Since then, KAIKA has established itself as a benchmark and leader in its sector, representing the emblem of quality, customer service and human care.

To commemorate these 40 years of history, an online event was held on 16 June, during which the commercial ties and friendship between the two companies were demonstrated. Manuel Matachana, Vice President, David Delgado, former Sales Manager for LATAM (now retired) and Jose Mª Pellicer, International Sales Director of the MATACHANA GROUP, shared their vision and experience since the beginning of the business relationship between the two companies. On the part of KAIKA, the person in charge of commemorating this anniversary was Humberto Durán, Director of the company and now retired, who was interviewed by his son, Javier Durán, current Director of the company.

In parallel with the evolution of the hospital industry and the strengthening of commercial ties between the two firms, the Sterilization Sciences have also been transformed over the last 40 years and who better than Elena Lorenzo, Global Head of the MIEC Department, to explain this transition. In an engaging and emotive presentation that captivated the audience, it was demonstrated that training was, is and will continue to be a determining factor in converting the sterilization centrals into Medical Device Reprocessing Units, RUMED, ratifying their role as an essential Service in Health Care.
