On the 16th and 17th of May, 2 theoretical-practical workshops were held with primary health care personnel from the 6 and 7 health care areas of Murcia. These workshops are the result of a collaboration between health professionals from these hospitals and the company MATACHANA, which has a long tradition of training in Murcia.
The theoretical part was given by the nurse Emi Sabuco, a professional expert in this subject and with a great teaching approach, who showed the users the basic principles to be followed for the reprocessing of medical material in these services. The practical part was carried out by Mr. Javier Vázquez, expert advisor in bench top sterilizers (miniclaves) of the company MATACHANA, as well as Mr. Fran Rodríguez, commercial advisor MATACHANA for the area of Murcia.
The first session was held at the Morales Meseguer University Hospital, for a total of 30 healthcare professionals, and the following day, at the Reina Sofia University Hospital, where 28 people attended.
In the practical session, the staff were able to observe live the operation of a class B steam bench top sterilizer, of the MATACHANA latest generation, as well as learn how to correctly use an ultrasonic tank and understand the purpose of the chemical and biological indicators to monitor and control our sterilization processes.
From MATACHANA, we would like to thank all the participants for their high interest and motivation, trusting that these workshops will become a point of standardisation of knowledge for all professionals in Murcia.
