Training at the Hospital Comarcal Móra D’Ebre – Tarragona, Spain.

On 23 January, more than 30 professionals from the Hospital Comarcal de Móra d’Ebre, in Tarragona, received training in packaging techniques and sterile barrier systems, to strengthen their knowledge in the reprocessing of medical devices. The session was completed with a talk on “Principles of steam sterilization”, to optimize the proper use of the 2 MATACHANA sterilizers installed in the Reprocessing Unit.

During the sessions, the staff, both from RUMED and from the surgical block, took the opportunity to present doubts and questions of their daily practice that were discussed among all attendees, as well as to better appreciate the important work developed by the Reprocessing Units and the direct impact that these actions have on patient safety.

To end the session, the RUMED staff invited all the personnel to take a tour of their service, explaining the work they carry out and taking the opportunity, once again, to comment on issues that were resolved through open dialogue among all.
