The Advanced Planning 3D Unit at the Hospital Universitario Gregorio Marañón in Madrid has won an award in the Innovation category for the healthcare sector at the prestigious international 2023 Quality Innovation Awards.
The Hospital Universitario Gregorio Marañón is the first Spanish university hospital to be designated as a hospital that manufactures implants, surgical instruments and personalised prostheses certified according to ISO 13485, providing enhanced safety for patients and more accessible costs. For this certification process, all stages carried out by the Reprocessing Unit for Medical Devices were validated internally in order to ensure the compatibility and functional viability of the elements designed in 3D, highlighting the invaluable contribution made by these services and their teams. In this certification process, MATACHANA’s knowledge, in particular through its MATEC Department, was crucial when it came to substantiating and verifying all of these results.
