On Thursday 21 November, at the World Sterilization Congress held in Santiago de Chile, we had the honour of announcing the Premios de Investigación D. Antonio Matachana.
These awards are intended to foster the scientific spirit and recognise outstanding contributions in the reprocessing of medical devices field. Their objective is to reward people and institutions that promote the advancement of knowledge and improvement of safety standards in key sectors such as Health, Life Sciences and Pharmacy, aligned with the global One Health approach promoted by the World Health Organization. This concept demonstrates the essential interconnection between human, animal and environmental health, highlighting that risk and disease prevention requires interdisciplinary collaboration. From combating antimicrobial resistance to mitigating the impact of pandemics and preserving ecosystems, One Health is presented as an integrative and sustainable vision to address global public health challenges.
D. Antonio Matachana Fernández, founder of the company MATACHANA in 1962, laid the foundations of a company which, with vision and innovation, has evolved to become a global leader in reprocessing and infection prevention and control solutions. Today, the company operates in more than 120 countries and continues to lead according to the principles of excellence and innovation that he established from its inception, consolidating itself as a family legacy with global reach.
The awards were officially announced by Mr. Manuel Matachana, our company CEO, who pointed out the role of these awards as further proof of MATACHANA’s commitment to science and training.
