At the end of February, the Head of MIEC (Matachana International Education Center), Elena Lorenzo, gave several training sessions at the Bengo General Hospital in Angola. More than 15 members of the Reprocessing Unit, as well as Engineers from the hospital itself, received training on key theoretical aspects of medical device reprocessing, as well as on MATACHANA equipment installed in the hospital: thermal washer disinfectors, ultrasounds, steam sterilisers, 130HPO® Hydrogen Peroxide steriliser and the BIOVelox20® incubator. As well as highlighting equipment profiles, aspects focused on the safety of patients to be treated with the healthcare products that are reprocessed in our Reprocessing Unit for Medical Devices (RUMED) were always underlined.
The sessions were characterised by the sharing of knowledge, as well as the commitment to ongoing learning shown by all participants. The spirit of collaboration made the sessions dynamic, enjoyable and rewarding for all attendees.
These experiences highlight the importance of global collaboration to advance healthcare practices.
