MIEC in the public hospitals of the Murcia region

Last January, several training sessions were held at the Morales Meseguer University Hospital and the Virgen de la Arrixaca University Hospital, both in the region of Murcia. The sessions, of a theoretical and practical nature, took place on site at both centres and were attended by all the staff of the reprocessing units, as well as the surgical block.

In the case of Morales Meseguer Hospital, aspects related to washing were reinforced, both ultrasonic and with thermodisinfector washers, with a particular focus on highly complex instruments, such as robotics, laparoscopy and traumatology material.

For the Arrixaca hospital, we organised a specific session on inspection and preparation of surgical instruments, including the elements we use for monitoring our cycles, and we ended with a review of the work programmes configured for the steam sterilizers, in order to understand their operation and proper use.
