On 19 and 20 January 2023, a theoretical-practical training session was held for RUMED staff at the Río Hortega University Hospital in Valladolid, taking advantage of the recent remodelling of the automatic washing area.
Some 25 staff from the service, including Preventive Medicine, participated in these sessions where concepts of automatic cleaning and disinfection were reviewed, as well as steam sterilization, with an essentially practical approach.
During the 2 intense days, real work cycles were performed in order to understand the operation of all the loading complementary elements: trolleys, racks and loading and unloading automation, as well as the information provided by the device’s screen. Among the complementary elements, we reviewed with special attention the da Vinci rack, for its special design and reprocessed real da Vinci instruments, coming from the robotics operating rooms.
