On 20 and 21 June, a theoretical and practical training was conducted for the staff of the Sterilization Central of the Hospital Universitario Son Espases, Palma de Mallorca (Spain), where the company MATACHANA has installed 3 MAT LD1000 Washers Thermo-disinfectors with automatic loading and unloading systems, as well as a centralised detergent dosing system.
The training was structured in 2 sessions, the first of theoretical approach, where basic concepts related to cleaning and disinfection were reviewed, including the importance of supplies and chemical products suitable for the different complementary elements and medical devices existing in the health centre.
On the second day, the training focused on the handling of the Washer-disinfectors, advice on loading the selected complementary elements, as well as on the preventive maintenance that the users of the Central must carry out on the equipment to ensure its safety and correct use.
A total of 17 service professionals actively participated in the educational talks, improving their knowledge on the reprocessing of medical devices and optimizing the use of the selected loading elements.
