Last 10th of April, in its Spanish/Portuguese edition and 9th of July, in its English edition, we celebrated with the whole community of reprocessing professionals, the Sterilisation Science Day.
In total, more than 800 participants from 87 countries connected live to view the presentations broadcast by our speakers, this year with the theme ‘TransFORMING RUMED’. The webinar aimed to analyse the positive impact of proper and continuous training of reprocessing staff in the day-to-day running of our units. In this way, a vision of the minimum desirable competencies for RUMED professionals was provided, from a more institutional perspective, thanks to the collaboration of the WFHSS and the president of the Portuguese organisation ANES, and subsequently, the practical adaptations that the health centres carry out in their own hospitals, welcoming and training the new staff of the service. In this regard, we were very fortunate to have the excellent testimonies of the Hospital Sant Pau in Barcelona, Spain, the ‘Las Vegas’ Clinic in Antioquia, Colombia, the Heart Surgical Center in Manila, Philippines and the Canberra Health Service in Australia.
This celebration also served to officially present our new Campaign 2024, ‘TransFORMING the RUMED’ which opens the call for this new edition.
