At the beginning of June, 2 intense training days were held at the Galdakao-Usansolo Hospital (Vizcaya), taking advantage of the start-up of this New Medical Device Reprocessing Unit belonging to the Basque Country’s public Health System, OSAKIDETZA.
More than 100 professionals attended the theoretical part, with the aim of making the crucial work carried out by the RUMED visible and fostering interprofessional empathy. During the second day, specifically with the sterilization staff, the healthcare professionals were able to practice and train in the handling of the new equipment and technologies, in order to acquire the safety and confidence to guarantee their daily work.
An excellent facility for excellent professionals: critical, committed and aware of the impact of their work on patient safety.
A big thank you to all of them and especially to their supervisor, for her motivation, perseverance and for knowing how to be “up to the challenge” until the very last moment. Marian… Thank you for your work over so many years!
