On the 10th and 11th of May, the theoretical and practical training of the personnel who will work in the Medical Devices Reprocessing Unit of the Hospital de Saln\u00e9s, in the beautiful Galician region of Saln\u00e9s, in Pontevedra, took place. This project is the result of the award, through public tender by the Galician Health Service (SERGAS), of the equipment necessary to guarantee the activity in a unit of this type.<\/p>\n

A total of 25 professionals of different types: nursing care technicians, preventive medicine, nursing, etc. actively participated in the day, expressing their doubts and concerns and actively intervening during the practical part.<\/p>\n

The RUMED of the Hospital de Saln\u00e9s, is composed of this MATACHANA equipment:<\/p>\n

  • 1 x MAT MIS 1001 ultrasonic irrigator<\/li>\n
  • 2 x MAT LD500 washers<\/li>\n
  • 1 x MAT LD2000 Compact washing tunnel for trolleys and containers<\/li>\n
  • 1 x 130HPO\u00ae sterilizer<\/li>\n
  • 2 esterilizadores de vapor S1006 E-2<\/li>\n
  • Auxiliary furniture for the cleaning area and the preparation and packaging area.<\/li>\n

    From now on, there is a long road ahead for all these professionals and for the hospital itself, setting protocols, establishing standardised ways of working and above all, guaranteeing, in each step that is carried out, the longed-for patient safety that must guide all the processes that are carried out in a reprocessing unit.<\/p>\n
