TYPE 1. PASS\/FAIL INDICATORS<\/h2>\n

They are used externally on the wrapped materials to indicate that they have been exposed to the sterilization process. They allow an easy identification of the material which has been processed and the one which hasn\u2019t. As they do not react to all critical process variables, they do not show the attainment of the conditions required for sterilization. <\/p>\n

BIOLOGICAL INDICATORS<\/h2>\n

Biological indicators have\u00a0Geobacillus stearothermophilus<\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0Bacillus atropheaus<\/em>\u00a0spores. The spores are the most resistant forms of life on the planet and allow to test sterilization processes through the simulation of a bioburden with a population of microorganisms and a specific resistance to different sterilization systems.<\/p>\n
