TRAINING COURSE ON LOW TEMPERATURE REPROCESSING AND DETERGENTS, HOSPITAL ARQUITECTO MARCIDE FERROL, SPAIN:
On January 30th, a training course accredited by SERGAS on low temperature reprocessing and handling of detergents was held at the Arquitecto Marcide Hospital in Ferrol, La Coruña. During this session, aspects related to the reprocessing of flexible endoscopes and the practicality of the ESGENA Guide were also discussed.
Some 50 professionals from different services attended the course, which was held in two shifts. During the sessions, the workers from the Sterilization Central and the Endoscopy Unit actively participated in the talks, expressing their doubts and making their contributions thanks to their great experience. Both the LTSF and the VH202 technologies raised many questions. The conference was highly valued by the attendees, and both students and teachers were eager for more.
From MATACHANA, we would like to thank Mrs. Angelica Mosconi from the Ongoing Training Department of the hospital, for her involvement throughout the organization of the event. Likewise, we would like to thank Juan Grandal, supervisor of the Sterilization Central, and all his workers, for the interest shown.
Also, we would like to express our gratitude to the company Dr. Weigert Spain, for their excellent collaboration throughout the course and the clarity, as well as the qualitative talk given on detergents and disinfectants. This course serves to pay tribute to Mr. Juan Cortizas, Sterilization Supervisor of this center, who sadly passed away last year. His educational legacy has been perpetuated over time and we all feel very proud to follow it.
