MIEC IN SALVADOR DE BAHIA, BRAZIL: CIME ENCOUNTER
On July 6, the CIME Group (Science & CME) of Salvador de Bahia, Brazil, organized a big event at the Mercure Rio Vermelho Hotel, under the thematic "Science and CME on track", with the attendance of more than 120 people from Bahia and other neighboring states: Pernambuco, Alagoas, Fortaleza, etc. The session was attended by a large number of speakers who dealt with a variety of aspects related to CME (RUMED). Among them, they highlighted the fundamental importance of CME in the hospital context as one of the first barriers against nosocomial infection. Teté Neide de Oliveira, a much-loved CME nurse and expert, from the Fortaleza hospital, spoke to us about the contribution of public practices in Brazil for the development of the critical spirit and the future updating of the regulations that affect CME. Also, the presentation of nurse Rafaela Maranhao was very engaging. She acts as coordinator of robotic surgery in her hospital. She told us about the changes and consequences generated by this new practice in her hospital.
Elena Lorenzo, Infection Control Manager of the company MATACHANA, participated with 2 papers, providing a more international view on infections related to healthcare, as well as the most common challenges that are found in the cleaning processes.
In addition, noteworthy was the complete and varied satellite symposium organized by the company H.STRATTNER, focused on new technologies within the CME.
We would like to thank the organizers of the event, the entire CIME group, and especially Fabiola Queiroz, for the high standard of the event and the personal commitment of all its members towards the development and improvement of scientific knowledge associated with CME. PARABENS, CIME!
