MIEC IN NICARAGUA.
PUBLICATION OF NATIONAL STANDARD 150:
On March 18 and 19, the National Manual of Procedure for the Sterilization of Medical Devices in Health Facilities, Nicaraguan National Standard 150, was presented at the Hospital Occidental de Managua.
MATACHANA was the special guest during the training session of the first day, conducting an educational day on key aspects of hospital asepsis and focusing on the importance of cleanliness as the basis for success in the subsequent processes to be developed in RUMED. Also, the technologies of sterilization by Low Temperature and its complementary use were commented in detail.
On the second day, the Standard 150 was made official, with the physical presentation of the manual and its delivery to the nursing directorates of all the hospitals. A visit was also made to the Medical Device Reprocessing Unit of the Hospital Occidental de Managua, fully equipped with MATACHANA devices and a current reference in the country.
It should be noted that the campaign "RUMED, the hospital beat" has been adopted by the Nicaraguan Ministry of Health as the motto driving this standard. Furthermore, it was a reason for the renewal and new construction of the new sterilization centrals and equipment in the country.
We would like to thank MINSA, the Hospital Occidental de Managua and all its staff, as well as the company BÜHLER PHARMA, distributor of MATACHANA for the courteous treatment received and its involvement in the launch of this Standard.
Many congratulations to all Nicaraguan Healthcare for this great achievement!
